i mostly look at me as a kid bc now i mask sm. I have most of the symptoms like sensory issues, not understanding social cues, etc.

also what does it mean if as a kid i didnt understand social situations not in the way that i didnt go up to kids but i went up to every kid,,,,, like wayy more than the usual extroverted kid. i would go up to any kid n just go up to my parents like

sensory issues & not understanding social cues are autistic traits/symptoms, so i’d recommend looking into that! it’s important to note tho that you can have symptoms of something while still not having it. you should look at the diagnostic criteria for autism, as well as common symptoms/traits or experiences that autistic people have. it’s very tricky to find out if you are autistic (as well as get a proper diagnosis) after years of masking. if you are able to, it’s also a good idea to get professionally evaluated! make sure any information you find online is backed up & comes from good sources as well. i wish you luck in finding out what you have! happy

go to a professional. they will know much more than some random ND people on the internet because every experience is different /nm. i hope you figure it out!

edit: only if you can. if you dont have access to a therapist or phychiatrist, go to a school councelor happy

https://raisingchildren.net.au/autism/learning-abo... i just found this source (for autism, i got really curious when i saw this thread and wanted to know if im autistic and now i think i am ._. oop) and it actually made a TON of things click for me- i did so many of these weird little things as a kid xD /lh i didnt look for anything about adhd but i could go and look really quick!! i will leave this comment here for a second and go find a resource for adhd!! ill put it right here: https://www.vyvanse.com/what-is-adhd?utm_medium=cp...

btw i read one of the symptoms on the autism one that said something like: "needs other children to play games by their rules" and i was like *flashbacks to when i would do that while me and my sister would play with lps* so yeah O.O

The "lack of social cues" can extend to not knowing if you're wanted or not. Quite literally general aloofness to everything to do with people. I reccommed watching YouTube videos of just people talking about their history, but if you wanna know rn, yes that is very much so an autism thing- you're probably better off looking at the "everything else" autism, as I like to call it. Mostly because most people title it "autism sympoms in girls" or some variation. I wish you well on your journey!!!/sr

something one of my friends did recently was writing down everything they could think was a neurodivergent symptom and then research each symptom and see what it applies to !! idk if itll be super helpful but yknow !! it worked for them :3
