Pattern Types

We have many different kinds of patterns on this site, and some can be used for more than one type of item or craft. This page will explain the different types of patterns on the site and how you can use them.

Cuff Patterns

Cuff patterns, also known as "multi stitch" patterns within the kandi community, are designed to be used for kandi cuffs, large bracelets made out of pony beads. These patterns must have an even number of columns in order to work. Here are some tutorials on how to make kandi cuffs.

Perler Patterns

Perler patterns are designed to be used with perler beads, aka Hama or fuse beads - small plastic beads that are melted together using an iron and parchment paper. These patterns can also be used for square stitch, cross stitch, and Minecraft.

Mask Patterns

Mask patterns can be used to create kandi masks - face masks made out of pony beads that are commonly worn to raves. These masks must be made using peyote stitch. Depending on the mask type, you may need to tie the top and bottom together. You will also need to add straps to go on your ears. For more information click here.

Flat Panel Patterns

Flat panel patterns must be made using peyote stitch, either odd or even count depending on the number of columns. You can use any size bead to make flat panels, whether it's regular sized pony beads, mini pony beads, or tiny delica beads. These patterns are almost always large and cannot be made into kandi cuffs. Some are designed to be made into posters. Others are designed to be connected together to make bags.

Flat Charm Patterns

Flat charm patterns must be made using peyote stitch, either odd or even count depending on the number of columns. Most of these patterns are designed to be made with pony beads and should be small enough to use as a necklace charm.

Bandana Patterns

Bandana patterns are designed to be used with pony beads to create kandi bandanas - bandanas that cover the face and are commonly worn at raves. These patterns are made using peyote stitch.

Tie Patterns

Tie patterns are designed to be used with pony beads to create kandi ties. These patterns are made using peyote stitch, normally odd count.

Bikini Patterns

Bikini patterns are designed to be used with pony beads to create kandi bikinis. These patterns are made using peyote stitch. Some of the bikini patterns are complete. Some will require you to duplicate the pattern to create two identical sites. Some will require you to add straps. For some suggestions about bikini sizing click here

Case Patterns

Case patterns are designed to be used with pony beads to create cases for your iPod, phone, or other devices.
