This whole Hot Topic thing is becoming pretty funny.

So they start with singles. Then they make a peyote. Now they have a multi. It's funny how they're trying so hard. Do they really think that any ravers/kandi kids are going to spend 10 dollars on something that they can make themselves for about 2 dollars? I mean come on.

"ixlikextrainsxkid": I haven't been able to find any pics of this stuff so i don't belive it. anyone wanna prove it to me? http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/WhatsNew/Accessories//Black+And+Red+Bead+Skull+Stretch+Bracelet-168296.jsp peyote cuff http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Accessories/Jewelry/Bracelets//Pink+Green+Yellow+Dubstep+Beaded+Bracelet+3+Pack-129121.jsp singles http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Accessories/Jewelry/Bracelets//Purple+Black+Red+Bro+Beaded+Bracelet+3+Pack-126103.jsp more singles I can't find the link to the multi, they must have either taken it down or I just can't find it. It was white with a black mustache and seemed very similar to a pattern here. In response to the actual topic, if Hot Topic thinks it's in high demand they'll sell it :/ it's sad but true. There will be people who come in and don't know what it is and buy it. I don't exactly like that idea, but that's how they'll make money off of it. :c

i agree. kandi is special BECAUSE you can tell the back story behind it. even if it's not an "oh my friend....gave it to me because..." story it can still be a " I spent(blank) amount of time making this because (blank) and I'm so proud" story

I think if you buy/Sell kandi You aren't even a "Kandi kid" And I'm not so concerned with the prices as mush as I am with the fact that they're...well...SELLING kandi! I mean come on! Kandi is a friendship bond. Something you receive from a friend to show P.L.U.R. I look at each of my kandi and I can tell you who it's from and where/when/why they gave it to me. I'm not going to buy one from hot topic so I can Have one "Oh it's from hot topic" Out of all my "This awesome kid I know..."

I think it's ridiculous, I didn't believe it for myself, but then I saw it for sale on their website. I personally don't think it's right, but what can you do?

@LexiSaysMoo That's not exactly true. "It needs to be made the exact size of your friends wrist, and personalized to your bff's favorite color." I don't make kandi for people like my bff? I make kandi that I like and give it to someone to become their friend. I'm not going to personalize it for someone I just met? That's just how I do things, I meet people because they like my kandi and If I like them I might give whatever it may be to them. Just sayin~

Hai Mariah CX Here's my opinion on this shit. I think, that people who don't know what kandi is, or don't care about the meaning of friendship behind it, should be able to get it here. Because, it's not really kandi, and they don't call it kandi, so, it's not kandi! I mean, to be kandi, IT NEEDS TO BE MADE TO REPESENT FRIENDSHIP. It needs to be made the exact size of your friends wrist, and personalized to your bff's favorite color. It needs to be personally made so it REPRESENTS FRIENDSHIP. It needs to be called kandi. This shit, is mass produced. I can tell because it's on their website, and i know they don't sell homemade shit off their website, they aren't Etsy. I agree with MrBreakMonkey (AWESOME USER BTW Cx) about the fashion/meaning thing. Basically, let's just ignore it and go on with out lives. We know what our kandi means, and we aren't running around selling it. Just, continue our subculture, and let them have their fun trying to imitate it.

With this issue, it's not about what kandi means to ravers. This shouldn't even be considered kandi, it's just some beads with string. And ravers shouldn't pay any mind to this new "trend", should it go so far. Our kandi has meaning, it has time, and dedication, and sweat, and blood and tears (metaphorically! c: ) What they are selling at Hot Topic was made at a factory, by some machine or person who could honestly give two shits about where the accessory goes. Personally, I think we should pay it no mind. Se la vie.
