Hey everyone! I'm working on a super big project for one of my friends who is going through a rough time. You guys seen the playlists like "Playlist for when you're feeling down" kinda things? Does anyone have expirience making those and can help me make it/offer me advice on how to make one? Or could you possibly help me make it? I want my friend to be able to just go on youtube and pull up a video of her favorite songs, she already goes through so much and I want to be super awesome for her! ^^ Please, any help would be welcome

@BirdieByte: I have only used "Shotcut", its a free desktop video editor, it can do basic stuff, enough for a playlist or something like that. Then exported it and uploaded to youtube. There may be phone apps but i havent used them.

@pocketcosmic: That sounds awesome! Do you have any software/sites to recommend? I'm hoping to somehow get this on youtube!

So take my advice with a grain of salt but this is what i would do, having made a few playlists and listened to a lot of mixes. I would start by deciding how long it would be and dividing that by 3 or 4 (many songs are about 3 to 4 minutes) to give you a rough idea of how many songs to gather. Then you find the songs you want and get them somewhere you can listen to them a few times while you make the playlist.

Then comes the fun arranging part. I like to start with whatever song has a really nice intro, then i usually arrange the uptempo songs after that, then gradually go down to the slower songs, then back up to the end song, which is usually the most epic one in the list for lack of a better word. If i have instrumental songs i try to alternate instrumental and voiced. funny or joke songs work well in the second slot or toward the middle. these are just my preferences, experiment to find what style of arrangement works for you.

i usually make a playlist in my computer or phones media player and listen a few times to see how the tracks flow into each other and if i want to rearrange them. then its just dropping the audio files into whatever video program you have, maybe putting a fade transition, and adding a graphic. Hope that helps!
