I really struggle with calling people the correct thing they want 2 be called (names and pronouns) cuz I'm not really used 2 it cuz where I live is kinda boring, depressing, homophobic and theres a lot of old people on my street who have no idea what a neo is and people at my school are really toxic like they WILL make fun of a random person who says they're a furry, therian, lgbtq or if they say they have neos or something thats considered "cringe" and "weird"

my dad is also very christian so some things he would probably disapprove of but my sister is a therian and he doesn't care so idkk

sorry if this sounds rude I'll take it down if anybody asks

@Digipxel: ck: exactly!! everything that couldnt have been made without us is practically made up, the english language, benches, pizza, pencils, and etc i could go on and on! so basically what i mean is calling neopronouns made up doesnt make sense cuz nearly everything that became a thing after humans IS made up!!! its the same as saying rockets arent real because it was made up by humans shrug

@pArAsitez_sLay: ck: all pronouns r made up, every word is made up, its more like just pronouns that break the human standard of how gender works, atleast thats how i see it personally alien

@Mama_WeAllGo2Hell: actually I'm pretty sure cat/catself, pup/pup self and star/starself are just nounself pronouns. Xenopronouns are pronouns that can't really be comprehended by human understanding, so it's really hard to find an example of them. I think one of the most well known ones is meow/meow self but instead of saying the word "meow," you'd speak it as if you were an actual cat saying meow. Xenopronouns are most commonly used by people who are animal kin (like therians) and aren't meant for human vocal range. Idrk how to describe it tho, but I think the pronouns wiki can give you a better explanation lol

So basically, neo pronouns are pronouns that are different from he/him, she/her, they/them. They aren't in the dictionary. They're usually used by genderqueer/nonbinary/agender/etc. individuals who prefer pronouns such as it/its, ze/hir, e/em, or xe/xem! there are also neo pronouns for xenogenders (people who have genders that are beyond human understanding) for example, someone who identifies as Froggender could use frog/frogs, ribbit/ribbits, or even something else unique!

Also remember: Your pronouns do not have to match your gender perfectly! A nonbinary can use he/him, a genderqueer can use she/her, and so on! just choose which pronouns feel right for YOU!

@rainbow_nerdz: Identity is weird and confusing! Especially as others have said, Neurodivergency usually can make it harder

I have AuDHD, and always had an interesting relationship with Gender- I identify as Nonbinary, but when people "perceive" me as an animal (specifically Rat/Raccoon), I just feel happier? idk it may be coming from me being Otherhearted/kin tho! x)

but yeah, neopronouns help with being more connected to that (gender) identity!

I believe it's similar for others, but with different things!

I hope I could explain everything in an understandable way TwT

ok nobody here has clarified the difference between neo and xenos so lemme clear it up but short cus I'm tired

neos = stuff like xe/xir, ey/em, ze/zem, etc.

xenos = stuff like cat/catself, pup/pup self, star/star self, etc.

would go more in depth but, again, i'm tired
