I have a question TW: ranting

Ok so I just NEED to know (bc it's bothered me for a while)

Why are ppl nowadays afraid of capital letters like ??

Why do we need to add content warnings to things nowadays with warnings like "CW: all caps" ?? Don't get me wrong, it's fine to put content/trigger warnings for topics that can actually be triggering, like (slight tw) injury, gore, emetophobia, suicide, etc. but why LETTERS ??? I've asked people abt it b4 and they always said something like "because it's triggering to some ppl" but like WHY THO. How do you read books if you cant stand a full word that's written in caps? I'm sorry if this came off as insensitive and I have a MUCH more vent-y and detailed version of why I dont think this is really valid, which I deleted but could private message to you if you want to read it so I can have a more detailed answer. the most i've gotten of a reason of why it's "triggering" is "it makes me think you're mad at me." Which is... like... All I'm gonna say is that I am a random stranger, so why does it really matter if I sound mad? You can't just assume. You could ask me if I'm mad. If you don't like me typing in all caps, LITERALLY JUST BLOCK ME. Typing quirks are so accepted and many people really like them, and I don't see people complaining about THEM all that much, even I don't like them personally. You don't see "W2RN1N9: TYP1N9 QU!RKZZ >_<" b4 you read a post lmao. What if typing in all caps a lot is just MY typing quirk ? It's just letters my guy...

I really don't get it. I need answer other than "it makes me think you're mad at me".

@UR_L0CAL_FR3AK: Honestly I agree with what you said abt little Timmies picking it up lmao bc in my experience if you want to be different by having some sort of "mental issues" etc. you'll start noticing problems that weren't there b4, like a sensitivity to something you didn't mind b4. Or you'll go with the crowd and eventually become so absorbed in it that it's a real issue. Like I honestly feel like people with sooooo manyyyyyyy sensitivities to small things (like all caps) it's just a problem they created for themself. They dramatized it in their mind and now they believe it's something super serious when it's nothing more than a tiny thing they made big instead of ignoring it or, even better, JUST GETTING HELP.

I think the reason we need caption warnings is because some people are screamed at by their parents or other mean adults and are traumatised, and a sentence with all caps can trigger them.

@Digipxel: you do have a very solid point, it prolly isnt ALL millennials, but growing up, every kid in the neighborhood was absolutely traumatized from their parents if they weren't thrown in front of a screen, so thats prolly js what i see, but im sure theres some good parents, but yeah kids shouldn't just be thrown in front of a screen either, thats how we get little 6 year olds who saw a trans person and want to switch genders (no hate to trans people, but the amount of small kids wanting to transition is crazy dude-) and i'd imagine the caps thing might also be just picking up from what others have said, and repeating it, so there might have been an actual person who had like horrible ptsd, and then little kids named timmy picked up on it and then pretended that was his problem (also if my opinion sounds diffrent, i wrote the last one half asleep lmfao)

@UR_L0CAL_FR3AK: You're confused. Millenials don't parent their children; they throw little Naveah an iPad at age 6 months and let THAT parent their child from then on. Which explains why WAY too many 10 year olds are on sites they shouldn't be nowadays. But honestly, I think being allowed access to the internet before they can even solve 2+2 is WAYYYYY more dangerous than yelling by a long shot, but I'm not saying that yelling at your kid is appropriate either. I just laugh when people yell at me :skull:
