MARETU. where do i even begin??? he is a japanese vocaloid producer who makes rock/electronic/metal songs mainly using hatsune miku! his most notable songs are mind brand, magical doctor, coin locker baby, and SIU! my top 10 fav songs from him are Uminaoshi, magical doctor, mind brand, sukuramaizu, koukatsu, suji, toutetsu, SIU, angel92, and the taste of cockroach

there was recently some discourse about him cheating on his gf but ill let it slide since he apologized and yk im kinda hyperfixated on him and it would break me if he turned out to be a horrible person

MARETU's music videos consist of black and white illustrations with lyrics at the bottom. in two of his songs, there are characters! these two songs are mind brand and maegamist. the mind brand girl has a short bob hair cut, wearing a short sleeved collared shirt with a bow, a skirt, and some socks(?) the maegamist girl (i just call her the maegamist) has bangs that cover her eyes (since the song is about how she wants to cover her eyes so she doesnt have to see anything) and she wears the same outfit except with a tie :3

MARETU's songs arent very happy at all. he writes about topics such as self-endgaming/depression, dr-gs and ab-se. i personally feel like he writes about these topics because he wants the world to understand what these things can do to people and how they make them feel. his lyrics, while kind of hard to translate/decode, are very upfront about the topics at hand. a good example of this is probably born before (or more accurately, before i was born) ((look up the lyrics urself if ur interested since i dont think putting it on here is a good idea lol)

Currently, my fav song from him is Uminaoshi! i find it highly relatable and comforting. to be honest, i find all MARETU songs comforting (most of the time)

MARETU has a lot of old songs that arent officially on music apps or youtube. u might have heard of lets say the p names. its an old MARETU song! this is probably his most wholesome song, considering the rest of his discography. my favorite old song from him is either road-roller or lets break out of our shells and talk!!

in three of MARETU's songs, there is a leitmotif! These songs are Sukuramaizu, Koukatsu and Suji! They also have a story connected to them. Sukuramaizu is from the pov of the victim and Suji is from the pov of the ab-ser (suji kinnies scare me ) idk where Koukatsu comes in this story (im actually listening to it as i type this part) but its not a very happy trilogy of songs. but who cares bc theyre all bangers amirite??? tbh Suji is my fav out of all three, not bc of the lyrics but bc of the music ITS SO GOOD
