Anyone looking for trans advice?

I've been out as trans for almost 6 years now and I've done extensive research about so many topics relating to LGBTQ+ stuff in that time period. My project for senior year was about transgender history in America. Now I know I'm not always right and I don't speak for the whole community but if anyone wants needs any advice, I can try to help. You can ask anything you want as long as it relates to being trans (and appropriate ofc) 5148b7d71c4d8_raccoon.gif

@Trever_The_OutcastX3: I guess it depends on how strict your parents are but here are some small things I could think of

1: Using mens body soap/shampoo/deodorant/cologne

2: If you have access to shaving cream and a razor, you could shave your face, even if there is no hair there. It used to make me feel better and it can help to practice if you plan on starting testosterone eventually. I've also completely stopped shaving the rest of my body. You can also dye your facial hair/peach fuzz! It depends on how much you have, if any. I don't have enough to dye but some people have enough and they dye it darker so it stands out more and is more noticable!

3: Wearing boxers. Idk why but switching from "feminine" underwear to boxers made me feel so much better. Wearing mens socks too.

4: If your parents are stict about clothing, you could try to go for more androgynous clothing instead of feminine clothing (tho you can dress feminine and still be a trans guy! Anyone is allowed to enjoy femininity)

5: Asking your close friends to refer to you with your correct pronouns. If this is a problem with your parents, you could ask your friends to use different ones around your parents

6: Sock packer! Idk if you're interested in packing (wearing a prosthetic to simulate the look/feeling of "down there"). Many people do this because it brings them comfort and they like how it looks. They make actual ones, but you can make one out of socks! There are tutorials online

7: Remember that things get better, and one day you will be able to live freely and be yourself

@Spooks: I know some people will do binder giveaways, and I know at one point GC2B did that because the first binder I got from them was free. I emailed them because I was a couple dollars short for one and the person who replied was very nice and set me up with a free one. I'm not sure if it would still work but worth a try! There's also transtape, which is cheaper than a binder, though it is not reusable unfortunately. I'm not sure of many completely safe ways to make a binder, but whatever you do please do NOT use ace bandages or any binder that has clasps on the side. These kind are usually sold for cheap on places like amazon under the name of "tomboy binder". Both of these can cause significant rib pain and damaged, especially the ace bandages. Your health is more important than anything so it's better to just wait until you have a safe option.

Also quick note about binder brands, many people go with GC2B because they have cheaper options, and their binders are great starter binders, but they are known to stretch out kinda fast, especially if you have a larger chest. I have 2 and they both stretched out pretty fast, and my 1st one doesn't bind me at all. The current brand I use is Spectrum Outfitters! I've had mine for a good while (at least like 4 months) and there's little stretching, it still binds me, and it's comfortable! A bit tricky to get in and out of since it isn't that stretchy but once you get the hang of it it's not that hard. The only downside is they are pretty expensive, as I got my black half binder for around $50. Though there are also other binder brands too! I'd reccomend looking into those too
