@silverismyname totally understand, wouldn't take it too far, im just very blunt in my approach to things but im not leafyishere 2.0 making a 20 minute analysis video on why a person on kandi site doesn't have whatever, but if it takes being a lil bit of a meany in paragraphs to keep at least one person from wrongly diagnosing themselves and ruining years of their life then thats what itll take, but eh not like itll matter either way people hear what they want to hear and ignore what they dont want to hear and use the vocal minority saying what they want to hear to decide huge things

@afraidofmonsters: yeah that completely makes sense, I suppose I just meant not to take it too far either way, yk? like not saying "I am this" or "you are not this", but instead having a conversation with them to clear up what they are experiencing.

@ _AXE_ ok? it being a safe space for you dosent mean i cant say things, im not starting shit and not trying to argue, if i was trying to start shit i wouldnt be having a conversation with silverismyname, im sorry if it makes you angry i understand but like i said hurt feelings are quick and temporary, a inaccurate diagnoses can be permanant and expensive. i was rude in my first message i can admit that but i wasnt planning on having a long drawn out conversation i figured everyone would share the sentiemt that it isnt that common and the symptoms listed by the op are super vague and can tons of things and it isnt safe to quickly give a disagnoses and feed into that

@afraidofmonsters: bro can you just stop?? this site is a safe space for many people INCLUDING MYSELF, and starting shit like this doesnt help anyone

@silverismyname just letting everyone say they have did and letting it be seen as common as something like adhd would do more harm then good, patience and kindness of course don't treat people badly but im not just gonna be like "yes caketown!you without a doubt have did becuase you *looks at hand* forget things easily! there is no use thinking its anything else theres no use seeing a doctor either and it is immediately did!! yes immediately start saying "We" isntead of "i" off the bat becuase people on kandi site said mayhaps!" people can figure out theyre wrong on their own yes but would you rather have someone nip it in the bud or live their life thinking they have people living in their head having everyone around them feed into it? and if saying not everyone on earth has did seems like a evil threat then those people probably dont actually have it shrug i mean you literally suggested it could be ptsd and sombody disliked your comment becuase it wasnt what they wanted to hear, even the original poster ignores advice of anything else becuase it isnt what they want to hear "Everytime i ask for help people usally answer with like " you dont have DID the stuff you experience is normal " LIKE ??? how do you know taht .." its not hard to 'know that' things happening that can be connected to alot of different things aren't immediately a rare disorder you saw online. dont get me wrong i have no animosity or hate towards op at ALL but they seem really young and impressionable and letting somebody think they have a illness they more then likely dont have is crueler than saying nothing at all no matter how many feelings it might hurt, hurt feelings are short term but thinking you have a certain disorder can last a long ass time and cost thousands of dollars overtime

@afraidofmonsters: yeah I agree with that, I used to be very against systems as a whole because I thought they were all just weird teens on the internet doing stupid stuff. I think it's better to treat everyone with patience and kindness--the people who are faking or just misinformed will eventually figure out that they were wrong after lots of healing and self discovery, which is basically what being a teenager is. But since DID is so stigmatized already, someone who does have DID could see rude comments about their disorder and start to second guess themselves, like I did and still occasionally do. I think that's why some people disliked your comment, since it could have been seen as a 'threat' to them or some of their alters

@SilverlsMyName

i do believe it's real and exists and people have it and it has existed for a long time and isnt a new pair of shoes but theres no way the amount of people on here that claim they have it actually have it, it its not insanely stupid rare like some people say but it also isn't common the way some people on here think it is. i notice this insane amount of people started popping up only popped up after 2019 when it got trendy and sure people can say its because its destigmatized and yes i think that can be why SOME actual systems came out and started being more public but tbh most systems on here are like 13-16 and impressionable and are convinced rn they are systems because they saw it on tik tok or whatever or they jsut plain are lying. also people can be hypochondriacs which sounds cruel but like sometimes people they hear their own inner voice and can imagine voices saying stuff by their will and think it makes them a system suddenly, or they feel a symptom thats very vague and think oh that means i have it becuase its the only illness they know.

@afraidofmonsters: you are right in saying that not everyone has it, but you're original comment comes off (at least me) as like "oh all these damn kids with their ___ these days, back in my day we didn't HAVE mental illness!"

i'm like 90% sure that's not at all how you meant it, that's just how it sounded to me /lh

like a previous commenter said, it's best to look into every possibility--you might be experiencing symptoms of DID or OSDD, but there are many other things that have those same symptoms. Like PTSD, for example; some people have PTSD and experience loss of time, complicated sense of self, dissociation, etc.

(we are a system, so if you have any other questions we can try to answer them to the best of our ability)
