Board Warping

Trever_The_OutcastX3 9/3/2023 02:07 pm 432

Hey, So I have a ton of perler boards, that are warped. And I have a few questions.

1: How do they get warped in the first place? (I think its because of the heat from the iron, but Im not 100% sure)

2: How do you prevent the boards from getting warped? I tried the stack of books, but it doesn't work (maybe cuz the boards are already warped)

3: How do I de-warp my boards? I dont want to get rid of them because they are wrapped.

Thank you for any tips, advice, or any suggestions! X3 6309fa1989c7f_blue.gif

@Dizzzydancin: tape method works great!

the warping is from the heat of the iron!! i started using the tape method (you can find videos of it on tiktok), which makes sure heat doesnt come in contact with the board itself and doesnt warp! im not sure how to fix warped boards, i honestly just threw mine away and got new ones because they're hard to use

I'm pretty sure they get warped by them getting heat up and then cooling down.

The only way i can think of to prevent boards getting warped is to tape your perlers to melt them [called the tape method], there are quite a few tutorials on youtube for the tape method plus probably some on tiktok

To de warp them , i think if you heat up the board and then put a heavy book or object on it and press down on it for a bit it should be at least less warped

  1. yes, they warp because of the heat
  2. its pretty much unavoidable if you melt them on the board but you could use the tape method to melt your perlers instead
  3. You could maybe heat up the board again and put something heavy on top?
