what is KOSA?: KOSA or the kids online safety act is a bill that the government is currently trying to pass, it will go to the senate floor to be voted on in september. It may not sound bad, but it is a mass censorship bill, it will get rid of LGBTQIA+ content, any explicit content, and basically everything that the U.S. government thinks should be gone WILL be gone. This will affect schools as well, as someone who lives in a ver historic town, I naturally want to learn more about my town, but if KOSA passes, I will only learn what the government wants me to learn. As someone who wants to make a career in social media, i already have a chance at that, but if KOSA passes, i wont have a chance at all. This bill with show minor's parents/guardians everything they do or say online, OUTING closeted minors, even if you arent a minor, you will have to put in your I.D. just to accsess the internet, which will lead to literally DOXXING yourself.

how can i help oppose KOSA?: call or email senators, sign petitions, BUT MAKE SURE TO ONLY SIGN PETITIONS ONCE. if you sign a petition more than once thats fraud and your signature dosent count anymore. Tell more people about KOSA. DO NOT STOP SPEAKING UP THAT YOU DONT WANT THIS!!

should i tell a parent/guardian/trusted adult?:only if you are 100% sure that you know what your saying is true, make sure you explain all bad parts of this bill, MAKE SURE TO BRING UP SEWERSLIDE RATES GOING UP!!

current updates: Currently we know that hundreds of organazations have stated they oppose KOSA, 2 senators have spoken up about concerns from the LGBTQIA+ community(which means calling senators is working), BUT its not all good, a few weeks ago senator Ted Cruz went to San Antionio TX and sided with KOSA. 2 parents blaming their childrens sewerslide on social media which is sad. An exact quote from Ted Cruz is 'i think this bill should be passed as fast as humanly possible'. So far i've heard senators are reading comments and posts on KOSA. so be aware that if you post about opposing KOSA, that a senator could potentially see it. Several ads have been made promoting KOSA.

currently this bill is only in the U.S but this bill will affect websites WORLDWIDE. so dont be bragging saying "oh im in ___ so this wont affect me haha" no one cares where your at, this will effect everyone worldwide. even if your not in the U.S. you can help.
