I need songwriting tips/lyric ideas ;-;

so I'm trying to write a song for my partner (it's kinda cheesy) about how much I love him and how I'm gonna always try my best to help him and make sure he's ok.. he's been extremely stressed lately so I'm also hoping that this could help cheer him up. Buuuuuttt I don't have very much so far :/

I really need help with lyrics and also the music itself. I want something that's kinda alt rock/punk (like green day ig) but all I can do is vocals since I can't play any instruments 513b55c740178_kao_sick.gif can anyone help?? Even just simple tips are appreciated- /g

I'm sorry if this is kinda vague or doesn't make much sense I'm writing this at like 4 in the morning on monster energy and no sleep

a lyric idea could be; "you have my favorite smile, its so contagious, love drains from my heart thinkin bout you"

When I write, I make sure to be super focused. I usually write my songs at like 2 am just staring at the wall with the lights off lol. When I think of something good, I just write it down. I do Vocals and I’m learning piano. I actually finished writing my first lyrics for a song last night! Dm me if u wanna hear it happy

i like to think of songs as poems with music behind them, really helps looking at different poem structures and such! Also looking up different words for what you are trying to say also helps too! Hoped that helped!/gen kao happykao happykao happy

This'll sound weird, but "Mindless Pop Song" by Billy Kelly has a lot to say about song structure. It's also funny and not a bad song at all, though in no way indie (except that it's literally indie, but you know what I mean). It's on YouTube and streaming.
