Random thing I figured out about fabric covered elastic

if you grind the fabric covered elastic over the serrated part of a table knife (NOT a butter knife) it’ll eventually break. This does fray it, so scissors are preferred. But it’s a useful trick if you don’t have them.

@clyde_infestation: yeah, that’s kinda the idea. But the slight serration of a table knife helps it along a bit.

i remember once i had lost all my scissors (which is crazy since I tend to accidentally steal all the scissors in the house-) so i used the razor i took out of a pencil sharpener instead lol
