how do i ask my parents for an autism diagnosis?

I've assumed that i am autistic for about 2 years now (I don't know if thats a long time/long enough time to be certain but idk) and I wanna ask my parents for a diagnosis so i can finally actually say it with confidence cause right now I'm kinda hesitant to call myself autistic since im self diagnosed. I don't know how they'll feel about it, one time they mentioned the fact that my older sister was apparently autistic and they all believed her, in fact they're the ones who said it. But when she mentioned that her friends said she was autistic I said that my friends say I'm autistic too in hopes they'd kinda agree or get a hint but they literally just said "no". Although they also said their reasoning was because I act nothing like my sister, and like obviously we're not the same person. Even though they said my sister was autistic as far as I'm aware they havent really done anything about it/like try and get her a diagnosis (although that might be because shes 18 so like an adult now) I'm 15 right now and even when i told my friends this story one of my friends literally said "oh no you're definitly autistic" (in a positive way). I'm not sure, let me know what you guys think, if I should go ahead and ask them or just leave it be (I don't really need a diagnosis per say as like I do fine in school, and if anything I feel like they'll try and use that to disprove me but whatever)
