when making a kandi cuff are you having to add beads to patterns?

Hi I've only recently started making my own kandi, and though I'm "sure" I'm following the pattern correctly, I end up having to add beads to a row. OR my first column having to be tied on incorrectly for the pattern to work. Is there a common mistake in making or something I'm missing ? Any advice would be helpful thank you!

Well, as you work your way up the pattern, the bead position you start at moves. That means that you won't always start at the first bead in the row as shown on the pattern. You could maybe see this as "adding more beads to a row" since it's kind of like adding beads in front of your starting position. But no, you shouldn't need any more beads than are shown in the pattern. All of the rows after the first should take exactly half the amount of beads in the first row. So if the first row has 32 beads, all the others should have 16. If you haven't seen it already, we have a tutorial on here about how to follow patterns: http://kandipatterns.com/kandi-tutorials/how-to-read-kandi-patterns It's not for everyone though.
