Cuff help

Strawberry_BroStrider 9/4/2022 05:02 pm 637

Anyone else's cuffs (singles top, but I'm more worried abt my bigger pieces) get looser over time? I tend to tie mine pretty tight when I make them so they stand up better, but after a few months they get a lot looser.

I'm guessing this has to do with the type of string I'm using, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem + advice for how to fix it (and maybe better string recommendations??

I've had cuffs do the same, it most likely just comes down to the string drying and becoming brittle or smaller tears making the string weaker! The string also tends to get stretched over time if you pull/tie them tight. I don't really know how to avoid it, but maybe try a few different kinds of string and see how they hold up?

@Strawberry_BroStrider: thats so strange kao shocked maybe you could try using superglue on the knot to keep it more secure?

@cybrsaturn: the fabric-covered stuff is the stuff I use, which is why I'm worried kao sick

what kind of string do u use? if it's the clear plasticy stuff then yeah it's kinda slippery so the knots might loosen over time. i would recommend cloth covered elastic like this one because the cloth gives it more grip so the knots are really good!
