SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT TRANS RIGHTS

KandiKitty111 7/12/2022 11:00 am 621

A lot of you might already know but terrible bills are being passed in Alabama that will harm the rights of Trans people. This is not ok. And I won’t just stand by and watch. The bill that was passed prevents access to gender affirming medications. It also makes GIVING gender affirming care a felony and punishable by 10 YEARS. That is absolutely ridiculous. Wtf. That’s not all though, it restricts school bathroom usage for these youth and teachers are forced to OUT their transgender students to their parents. It also BANS the discussion of LGBTQ+ issues in school. All of this is a MASS genocide of transgender youth. Every bill passed like this has a death toll. Parents of transgender youth might flee Alabama and some youth that aren’t out might try to end their lives. THIS. IS. NOT. OK. The fact that this is happening is disgusting and so fvcking repulsive. I honestly have no faith in humanity. I’m so done with authority figures being old conservatives (no hate to conservatives, I’m hating on them I just don’t personally agree with their beliefs and that is ok we can still co-exist) I live in California so I don’t think this will effect us yet but still. I myself am not trans and I don’t have any trans friends that I know of but I won’t stand and let these kids be crushed because old, uninformed people who are irresponsible with power. Please spread this thread to your friends here on the website but also if you could show it to people irl. We can’t stand down and just let it happen we have to rebel a little

(Sorry this is kinda political and maybe it made you uncomfy, but it has to be said and something has to be done.) (also no hate to the law makers, they’re just uninformed and because they mostly came from an older generation, this kind of thing didn’t happen in their time so they don’t really understand. It doesn’t excuse anything, no absolutely not, but it gives context.) Please share this post to spread awareness!!!!!
love y’all so much, stay safe, and remember, YOU. ARE. BEAUTIFUL ???? AUGHHHHHH-

@FurbyCLOWN: I know it’s a really scary time we’re living in right now, especially when you’re a part of a marginalized group but things will get better if we step up and try to make a change. It’s ok to be scared, that’s normal, I myself am no trans but I definitely don’t think that I’m cisgender by any means and the fact that a mechanical murder machine has more rights than a person with a uterus and a community of people who just wanna be themselves and be equal in a heteronormative society is sickening. I don’t fully understand law yet but one day I hope to become a part of court and make fair and just judgments. A lot of this is confusing and that’s ok, the world isn’t easy but the best thing we can do right now is just spread awareness with our platforms. If you ever need someone to talk to about your fears about this you can always message me. I too am very scared

I don’t live in Alabama but where I live trans rights are definitely being threatened and as a trans youth it’s very scary because I don’t fully understand how laws work and if they have been passed yet. Also all of these anti LGBTQ+ bills seem very vague and kinda hard to understand and I’m very scared of what might happen to me or my family. Even roe v. wade being overturned will/have definitely terribl harm trans people and pretty much everyone it is very scary (sorry for this being long I’m just very scared and I don’t know what will have or what to do)

@luxeish: Ty for the clarification, I want to make sure I get my facts straight so Ty for correcting me,

Hey, i'm a trans man who lives in Alabama, and I wanted to make a little correction- (/nm and /neut!!! just wanna make sure people stay informed)

the current laws in place make it a felony for anyone below the age of 19 to receive gender-affirming care. It isn't 100% illegal (I know others who are older who are doing HRT here) but it still sucks because puberty blockers are illegal here. if you're a minor you can't really safely socially or physically transition. Yes, there are laws in place to make teachers out students, but the majority of the teachers I know do not follow this rule. The safety of children is placed WAYYY above that.

It really depends where you live- in Northern Alabama,(where I live, idk about other places) there are LGBT support groups as well as pride parades and other safe spaces.

Hope this helps a little-

Hi. I live in Alabama and am a trans man. I just came out to my parents recently, and they are accepting. Luckily I am not going back to my public school and instead doing an online course. To anyone else here from Alabama, there are people who are also trans, and people who still care. Best of luck to you and please stay safe
