@K4ND1B4R: sea of thieves!! love that game :3 i haven't played in a while tho. for artists, i know the longest johns is a huge name rn but you might have also heard some stuff from the dreadnoughts, which is primarily a folk punk band but they've done a few trad shanty songs (notably, their album Into The North is entirely trad shanty). there are a lot of artists out there tho so i don't blame you for not remembering any lol. i def encourage you to keep listening to shanty and all forms of folk tho!

i once went thru a phase where i was obsessed w sea shanties (thanks sea of thieves) but i cannot remember anyone i listened to besides the longest johns. as for folk punk, i'm sure i've probably listened to some but i don't keep track of genres or artist names scared i just add things that sound nice into my playlist lollz

@Jase_Burton: if you ever want to branch out, the playlist that i frequently listen to is on spotify, it's called "Sea Shanties You Could Theoretically [REDACTED]"! i can't recommend it more honestly happy folk in general is one of my fave genres, and it encompasses so many areas such as shanty, bar songs, southern gothic, etc. folk punk is even more unique tbh, with such an interesting blend of elements depending on which artist you listen to. i could go on even more, but i feel like this is breaching into hyperfixation, lol -- you can message me if you want to know more!

@idrankthebatteryacid:

i'd say depending on what songs and albums you're listening to from those artists you're probably listening to a few folk punk songs, i know poxy boggards has a few folk punk songs and so do the skullduggers. that sounds like an amazing artist list tho! i definitely encourage you to check out more if you're open, i've def gotta recommend the legendary stan rogers as well as storm weather shanty choir, hair of the dog, skinny lister, david coffin, and seamus kennedy!

@chaogarden: ajj is always awesome to listen to! i admit i only know one or two songs from the others, the playlist that i frequent doesn't have any songs by them but i've heard them in passing. sounds like i need to branch out too lol! /pos
