Questions abt Multi-stitch

So,,, I have learned multi-stitch but I'm not too good at it so I don't do it often and I had this question...

How do y'all keep the tightness uniform around the cuff? And how do y'all start it off? Like I know how to do it but like the starting area on mine will be tighter than the rest of the cuff and there will be random spots on the cuff that are loose DX
