i see a lot of rampant glorification of not so great historical events within the fandom.

i choose to stay far far away from it.

I used to think it was fun and if it just stayed memes n stuff I would have no trouble with it but I ran into too many Nazis and other types of people of the sort.

I didn't even know they were still a thing now lol

i don't vibe w/ it tbh, most ppl who like it are either fans of...certain historical people, or glorify historical events. (whether accidentally or on purpose)

as someone who was at one point a hetalia fan (in my defense i was like. 11 at that point and didn't understand what was wrong w/it) i just can't see why anything that personifies countries is a good thing, it just ends up with the fandom woobifying said countries' history/historical figures which....yeah.....

I don't like it at all, its just really weird and honestly kind of gross? From what I've seen its a lot of racism, appropriation, stereotypes, nazis and stuff like that. Also.... uhh 18+ stuff like a l o t of it, I think some of it was even made by minors, I didn't even go out of my way to look for this stuff I just searched up country humans and it was there. (Also, even if safe search is turned on theres still VERY questionable stuff)

It reminds me of how people used to ship the characters from Hamilton together but much.... m u c h worse.

Overall, its just blegh. /neg

i think it's just really weird? (not like harmless weird, like "hey this is pretty gross" weird.)

like a lot of people also said, the community tends to glorify certain historical events that absolutely should not be glorified, ever.

h*talia has so many moral issues and im a longtime avoider of it and its fans, any kind of shipping is a total disaster because people are either unaware of real life historical violent interactions or they romanticize/sexualize said violence
