ppl who dress alt!! whats the weirdest thing someone has asked or said about your style?

i'll go first!

okay, so i dress in decora kei and ive been dressing in it since around 2020-2021 (or atleast trying to bc i dont have that many accessories yet) and the weirdest questions i have gotten so far have been from my dad.

yesterday he asked two questions:

"do you want to be an anime character?" and "do you want to be japanese?" both of which i said no to, because of course i dont want to be an anime character or japanese?? huh?? 513b55c721dfa_kao_confused.gif

the "do you want to be japanese?" question was because i was wearing a mask and people in japan wear masks more there?? which wasn't really related to my outfit but i thought i would include it because its pretty weird? i was just wearing a mask because of the pandemic 513b55c6e7e8b_kao_blank.gif

im emo now but in high school i dressed more punk and one day while wearing a red plaid miniskirt in line at a grocery store an old man (like at least 70) stopped me to ask if i was wearing a tartan skirt. buddy it came from hot topic and also ur wayyyy too old to be talking to minors about their clothing wacko

not specifically with me but i was standing with my friend in a shop queue (getting donuts big grin) and someone came up to us and asked him if he "was a queer"

and it was like a 30 year old man... ppl are weird

moral of story: dont go to western australia perth sucks

i dress swag scene (2010's style basically) and ppl have asked me if im emo, no i'm not emo..im scene...its like emo, just more colorful and i look like a toddler dressed me..
