ppl who dress alt!! whats the weirdest thing someone has asked or said about your style?

i'll go first!

okay, so i dress in decora kei and ive been dressing in it since around 2020-2021 (or atleast trying to bc i dont have that many accessories yet) and the weirdest questions i have gotten so far have been from my dad.

yesterday he asked two questions:

"do you want to be an anime character?" and "do you want to be japanese?" both of which i said no to, because of course i dont want to be an anime character or japanese?? huh??

the "do you want to be japanese?" question was because i was wearing a mask and people in japan wear masks more there?? which wasn't really related to my outfit but i thought i would include it because its pretty weird? i was just wearing a mask because of the pandemic

(also!! anyone can reply to this! not just alt ppl! )

im pretty sure she said that cause i painted my nails black and was wearing arm warmers

btw i didnt look emo, idk what her definition of emo is

it wasn’t really “fashion” but i was coming back from an anime convention in cosplay with a few other cosplayers and this dude on the train comes up to us and asks one of the other cosplayers (bc they’re wearing a crown) if they were the queen and who the king was?? it was weird but we all sorta laughed it off lmao

@bl00dy_b4nd41dzz: im very scared of running into creepy men, i havent run into any yet which im very glad about.

i was already pretty scared of creepy people before i started dressing in decora kei but now im a lot more scared now especially considering some styles that are cute in some way are s*xualized by weird ppl?? lolita's get s*xualized ALOT for some awful reason even though the entire point of the fashion is the exact opposite of that?

anyways, stay safe!! its important to know how to keep yourself safe no matter what kind of alt fashion you wear! i really recommend going out with other ppl you trust or bringing something that can protect you (like an alarm button thingy? idk what theyre called)

tw: mentions of s/h and creepy men

ppl dont really say anything to my face but i do get death glares from old woman along with whispers and laughs sometimes, also creepy old men staring at me in like... a not platonic way, escpecially when i go out in pastel outfits which rlly creeps me out. Also one of my friends kinda assumed the reason i wear kandi was to hide the cuts on my wrist
