Hello. I just came to this website out of curiosity and know nothing of this. What is Kandi? Is it a type of craft or? What are these patterns used to make and how is this stuff made? Thanks

Kandi is a jewelry making craft! Specifically, it's friendship bracelets, made primarily out of pony beads. The patterns are used to make large cuff-like bracelets with pictures and whatnot on them. Everything is made through putting beads on string and tying knots- a quick search on YouTube will pull up hundreds of tutorials! happy

I wonder if this person will ever see this, lol. Also, a lot of the patterns on here are designed to be used with perler beads, tiny beads that you place on a plastic pegboard and melt with an iron to create flat pieces of art (or 3D sometimes). Those aren't necessarily "Kandi."

It's a huge part of the rave culture, so the bracelets have a deeper meaning than just a craft to do in free time. The things created are all made by hand and are traded among friends and strangers to form deeper bonds if you will. Ask just about any person on here where they got a particular item or why they made it and they could probably tell you who, when, where and why. In fact, I could probably recite like an encyclopedia the back-story behind all 110 of my pieces happy
