if you want cheap beads Walmart and Dollar tree have them fairly cheap. More shaped beads then hobby lobby is good (although they are homophobic). You can get them online also ! And be sure to get some good string that doesn’t stretch out too much. I use bead n stretch and it works fine. I’ve also heard of stretch magic being good. Have fun ! rainbowsmile

@Decora_kid_acidx: Thanks so much. I will have to check out Walmart and dollar tree's selection of beads. I have some stretch string that is pretty sturdy so hopefully it works good if not I will buy better string. heart bounce

fabric covered elastic is good for string (3mm is a good size)

using a blunt or plastic needle and attaching your string to it helps in general usually

hope this helps!! feel free to message us if you have any questions

-You will go through string a lot faster than you think so stock up on a lot of it.

-You don't always have to go to craft stores to find cool beads. (I found some transparent and metallic beads at Dollar Tree)

-Don't use the thin little elastic string, that stuff snaps way too easily. Get the cloth/fabric covered stuff, I use 1mm string, it's never snapped for me

-Joann's has a HUGE assortment of pony beads and is where I got my massive bag of beads ^_^

Hope this helps! Happy beading! : DD

square knots or surgical knots are the best way to tie off kandi, but you should do 2 or 3 of them :] /gen

~always remember to **tighten your rows**!! i never tightened after finishing a row when i first started and it gave me just rlly floppy unstructured results, just make sure not to make it too tight because over time the beads could break off.

~two types of string i recommend- thick cloth covered elastic for bracelets, and thick clear (less stretchy) elastic for accessories like bags n masks

~dont start big projects unless youve checked and double checked that you have enough materials (i have way too many abandoned projects)

~you can get really cute beads from the dollar store, and hobby lobby! hobby lobby pretty much always has beads on sale so its a pretty good place to get refills
