are all beads itchy? because ive only used one specific set and idk if its just that set or if all kandi is just itchy/irritating. if anyone has beads that dont itch, please gimme a link 1.gif

also, what can i do to prevent that weird mermaid scale thing that happens when i wear my kandi for too long?? is it too tight?

im kind of new when it comes 2 kandi, so please dont judge my newbie questions :'^)

i dont get an itchy feeling typically, so it could just be your beads, but to avoid the markings id reccomend wearing the kandi over your sleeves if theyre long, or getting fingerless gloves to put them over

Part of that mermaid pattern is because it's tight, but there isn't much you can do because it'll be too big if you make it any looser and won't hold up as well. I've found it mostly happens with singles over cuffs. You could be alergic to the type of plastic if it's really itchy (???). If the beads have any pokey parts, it could be just left over plastic from the molding and I usually use scissors to scrape off that part. Sometimes you'll see some with a lot of extra plastic on the edges so that's how I get rid of it. Also don't worry about asking questions; we were all beginners at some point!

Sometimes the itchyness can be caused by the thread you're using but if it's the beads it could be a skin problem. Wearing gloves or arm warmers under your kandi is the best solution to both problems happy

some beads have little pieces of plastic that stick out of the beads. that usually makes my arms itchy

hmm, that’s weird, mind don’t itch, I usually get mine from michael’s or joann’s. I get the mermaid scale thing even though my Kandi isn’t tight. I think it just happens when you wear it for a while

the mermaid scale thing is called bead skin, its when you wear your kandi for too long. everyone gets it at some point, people already explained you can wear long sleeves/hand warmers to prevent. The itchness from the beads sounds like an allergic reaction maybe, so if you really like the kandi you made, id advise you wear hand warmers or long sleeves (in the fall/winter) to prevent that.
