(im not gonna be using my typing quirk) ok, so, i love being in this fandom but we get such a bad rep because of all the assholes in the fandom. like, i can name so many godamn things RIGHT NOW on why this fandom is so shit and toxic. im gonna name 5

1) niki is getting sexualized because she posted a picture of her in a tank top.

2) eret got cancelled for saying he didnt know what a nonbinary lesbian is.

3) tommy, tubbo andd all the minors are getting sexualized even though they have expressed that they are not comfortable with it.

4) dream got cancelled for streaming when people were sleeping.

yeah. all that shit was and still is happening. the people in this fandom hate mcyts. im sure of it. its never the kids that are like, 13. ita always the older people in the fandom that try to create drama.

anyway, lmk your thoughts

(EDIT: im no longer in this fandom and i dont like any of the ppl mentioned but i still believe that they dont deserve hate for what is mentioned)

i wish the mcyt fandom would go back to us to all watching people like Ldshadowlady, Stacyplays, Popularmmos , the OG's. back then we were all just kids who grew up f/cked lol. ofc I now adore dream, tommy, ranboo, etc, but the old mcyt fandom with the og's was so much nicer.

tbh i think like 90% of that is just twitter lol. I only go on there for fanart so I just overhear the twitter shit, but generally sticking to the streams/youtube and smaller communities with better moderation (like discord) makes it a lot more enjoyable. communities becoming toxic when they get big is such a tired old trope that I don't even care anymore lol. like what u like cuz honestly who really cares besides angry twitter nobodies

I think I have a personal bias against the fandom for the ranboo stans taking over one of my favourite longtime music artists (lemon demon), but the fandom has genuinely upset me so many times. (Im not generalizing everyone in the mcyt fandom, some of yall are cool) But like, every time one of the streamers introduces them to smt like music for example, they go and associate the band solely with the mcyt that likes it. The fandom is just incredibly obnoxious and genuinely frustrating. I'm sure the streamers are nice ppl who make funny content, but I won't be able to enjoy any of it until the fandom either dies down or calms down

i feel like all the bad covers the people who have talent (ex. artists, music artists) and by talking about the bad people we just give them more attention then what they should be getting. its fucked up how people sexualize minors and people who are just in the public eye in general. they are people and their wishes deserve to be respected. it does make me genuinely sad tho that the good people in this fandom are shit on just because of the the people who like to make other people look like shit.
