the mcyt fandom is a disappointment

(im not gonna be using my typing quirk) ok, so, i love being in this fandom but we get such a bad rep because of all the assholes in the fandom. like, i can name so many godamn things RIGHT NOW on why this fandom is so shit and toxic. im gonna name 5

1) niki is getting sexualized because she posted a picture of her in a tank top.

2) eret got cancelled for saying he didnt know what a nonbinary lesbian is.

3) tommy, tubbo andd all the minors are getting sexualized even though they have expressed that they are not comfortable with it.

4) dream got cancelled for streaming when people were sleeping.

yeah. all that shit was and still is happening. the people in this fandom hate mcyts. im sure of it. its never the kids that are like, 13. ita always the older people in the fandom that try to create drama.

anyway, lmk your thoughts

(EDIT: im no longer in this fandom and i dont like any of the ppl mentioned but i still believe that they dont deserve hate for what is mentioned)

@clovertsunami: yeah that's pretty frustrating - it happened with the song heat waves too. like i understand joking about it with other dsmp fans because they get the joke, and its funny but some people took it a bit too far and made other people like the song less which was sad

i think that the bigger the fandom is, the bigger the toxic part will become and that is unavoidable (even though its also terrible)

the dsmp fandom has genuinely been some of the nicest and coolest people i've ever met, and i myself have not met anyone who is a meanie yet. i think sometimes all the horrible people who like it and dont listen to the creator's boundaries overshadow the genuine and good parts of the fandom sometimes, and the nice people get shit for liking dsmp because other people don't think there's any good in the fandom. it really sucks, but just remember that not everyone is bad - in fact a vast majority of people are really cool. they just get overshadowed and pushed away /gen /nbh

edit: though there are some people who are not in the fandom who take things way too far, commenting things like: "oh, i watch drea- *gunshot*" or a little emoticon of a dude with a gun that has the caption "i see a dream stan, every like on this comment lives me another bullet to shoot it" and there will be hundreds of likes. (again, nobody here, I'm just pointing out that both sides can and have done too much at times)

@clovertsunami: i mean like i liked lemon demon before i watched ranboo and so has my friend lol i feel like theres people who listen to it just because ranboo does, and people who just found out about it through him, and my friend who a long time fan likes him too. its always the bad that cover the good ynow :/ and i agree the fandom just isnt it sometime and i hate when people ask what i like and i feel bad to say what i like ynow?

i feel like all the bad covers the people who have talent (ex. artists, music artists) and by talking about the bad people we just give them more attention then what they should be getting. its fucked up how people sexualize minors and people who are just in the public eye in general. they are people and their wishes deserve to be respected. it does make me genuinely sad tho that the good people in this fandom are shit on just because of the the people who like to make other people look like shit.
