does anyone else get frustrated with the voting system?

please note this isnt meant to sound bratty or anything and i apologize if it sounds that way lol

does anyone else get frustrated with the voting system? i feel like it doesn't really do anything. it honestly sucks when new patterns are uploaded, but so many other patterns with a lot of votes get ignored. my main point is that i would rather some patterns just get not approved instead of being stuck in pending limbo.

There are not many admins and there are a lot of patterns being submitted each day. Patterns that are not aesthetically pleasing or that look too similar to other patterns previously submitted are not accepted. They can only accept a few each day. Personally, most of my patterns get buried and never accepted so I just don't sweat it. If I want to show someone a pattern I can still do so by sending them a link to it. happy

if anyone is still concerned a few dozen patterns were recently accepted, all made by users that havent been active since 2016 at the earliest. the admins likely sorted the patterns by most popular and sifted through some of the old ones. if they keep doing this, we could clear out a lot of the pending patterns and theyll be published as they should be :-)

yeah. like the ppl who make patterns of anime characters that arent mainstream get bonked while the same stripe pattern gets approved. Like my only approved pattern is one that took me like 3 minutes while I have some patterns that took me like 40 minutes.

@Longfurby666: ikr. like i understand it's nice to have a visual sometimes but they're so simple that i really dont see a point for having a pattern for it

@PEPBUTTZ: i agree! i'm also an active user on bracelet book and thats how their patterns are approved. i never once had a problem with it

also there are just a bunch of basic striped patterns that also clog the site :/ plz keep them private

@PEPBUTTZ: Yea! that would be a great idea

@allybattery: but that would kinda defeat the purpose. the point of the voting system is to see which patterns are "worthy" of being published, and clearly its flawed because said patterns get swept under the rug.

hot take, but i dont see the need for the voting system. i believe it'd be more efficient to have patterns manually approved by the admins. you submit a pattern, its moderated to make sure it meets proper criteria, and if it does, it'll be published. there'd still be a pending stage whilst the admins have yet to review your pattern, but it'd never get stuck in limbo.

in theory, this should lead to less dupes and a wider range of patterns for all users on the site. even if the pattern wouldn't have been popular in the voting stage, theres surely an audience for it and now they can access it much easier.

i hav some that are over 100+ votes, and when they were new they had the highest votes. *sighs**
