What are your beliefs on selling kandi?

I apologize if I happened to offend anyone by asking where I should sell kandi. I now realize that not everyone thinks that it's ok. My personal take on it is that it's ok. Maybe i just shouldn't call it kandi when i sell it since I'm not a raver. I basically really enjoy the craft but wouldn't feel very comfortable being in a huge crowd with lots of bright lights and loud sounds. Now my question is what are your beliefs on selling kandi? I would love to here what you have to say.

i'm a little late to the party, but I can go both ways on this argument. Selling kandi can be like art commissions, but at the same time the person buying it could very well just not be willing to try doing it

Based on my research smaller Kandi's (singles, stars, etc) shouldn't be sold since a lot of people can make them and access the supplies easier. So its better to sell larger creations (bikinis, cuffs, etc). Also many people may not have anyone to trade with and cant go to any raves due to todays problems so selling Kandi can help people in some way! twirlingheart

Thank you everyone for replying! I love hearing everyone's opinion on selling kandi! I respect everyone's views. I personally think selling kandi is fine but I totally understand if some people may not want to. I know kandi can be very special and meaningful. It is for me too. It is a craft that I treasure because it really helps my mental health/anxiety. However we share kandi it is always so special. Love u all! xo

in my opinion it kinda defeats the purpose of kandi, like i would understand if your buying a big project to spare time your energy motivation and supplies but smaller stuff like masks or cuffs i dont think should be sold

It seems like it depends on who you talk to. A lot of old school raver kandi kids don't like the idea because kandi is special to them, it holds more meaning trading kandi than selling it. Seems that way because usually when they trade, the kandi they receive is a memento of a special memory or person.
I myself sell kandi, but I do it because I want to give my creations to people since I don't really have anybody around to trade with. That, and to get a bit of pocket change of course. That said, I would happily both trade and sell- and have done both. But I also like making people happy from getting my kandi, and I'm also flattered they like it so much they want to buy it.
Like other people have said, it's also a craft so it makes sense why people sell theirs, like you do with so many other crafts.
I suppose at the end of the day it's just a subject that will never have a conclusion that will please everybody.

it's not kandi if you're selling or buying it because it eliminates the entire point of making it as kandi in the first place. either way, if i was going to sell, i'd only sell bigger creations like masks or bikinis because singles and cuffs are easy to access and easy to make. imo selling singles feels almost counterproductive since the whole point is that they're simple but personal and so can be traded to a lot of people at an event. also, trading kandi without going to an event isn't entirely out of the question. just look around for trade groups that operate per mail or start a thread on here or on reddit's r/kandi. glhf kao yes

I believe there’s nothing wrong with selling kandi creations, just like any other craft you make or form of art you make. If you want to sell it then by all means. If you don’t want to then you don’t have to. People who get hostile over whether it’s right to sell it or not are crazy in my opinion. Like if it’s not yours then don’t worry about what others do with their creations

Do whatever you want with your bead creations, its your art, and a "deeper meaning" keeping you from selling it doesn't apply if you don't see it that way. I would advertise it as kandi though, since that's what most people will search when buying it.
