@Raytaygirl: kinning for me isnt really just relating to a character, its seeing a character as yourself. especially for mentally ill kinnies its not just a fun light hearted "oh i like this character! i wanna be him," i personally have delusions and get upset if people refer to me as a character...

@Your_local_cryptid: Kinning is when someone relates to or sees themself in a fictional character! People do this for many reasons, whether it be spiritually, to cope, or just for fun !! ^__^ Often times they find it comforting to be associated with said character as it helps them relieve stress from trauma, or just brings them happiness in general
