i use cotton elastic cord. i like the stuff on pony beads.com best but it can be a little hard to work with because it is thick. if it doesn't need to stretch i use deep sea fishing line with at least 20lb drag. mine happens to be pink but you can't really see it.

I use regular Stretch Magic .5mm for my bracelets and other things like that. For my masks, I use wire string. It's tough to work with sometimes, but it holds very very well.

You can see my personal recommendations for kandi string on this page... this is only true for bracelets: http://kandipatterns.com/kandi-help/kandifaq/78-whats-the-best-string-to-use-for-kandi Short answer: cloth covered elasticated string is the best thing to use for bracelets if you want them to last for many years. For masks, something less stretchy will help the mask keep its shape better. That page I linked has a link to a video showing the difference in elasticity and strength between plastic and cloth-covered string.

I use Bead n Stretch .7mm… It's what I've been using for a couple years now, I love it and it definitely works, as long as you tie it off well enough.

for the kandi that you'll wear (either singles, cuffs or 3Ds) you use elastic beading cord. i use Stretch Magic, both the .7mm & the 1mm. for masks & other peyote creations including bags, bandanas & bikinis, use fishing line or you can use stretchy string, but the stretchy kind will make it look kinda weird cuz it doesn't always hold its shape. i use stretch magic for everything i make, but some people prefer to use fishing line. its really what you feel comfortable in using.
