is it better to use fishingline for bags and masks instead of stretchy string? is it overall cheaper?

I'm currently using stretchy string (which I buy in HUGE spools online because its cheaper) and I was wondering if fishing line would work any better. If so, could I get some brands/prices/places to buy? Thanks :)

@creatorofpizza: I'm curious to what you use? I use a 20lb fishing line for my masks and haven't had a problem yet. Was thinking about using it for a bag, but this comment caught my eye.

fishing line is defintely not the best choice. its super thin and breaks easily! i recommend a thicker strand of string for that!

hey! :3 I buy my fishing line at Walmart for like $1.99 for a spool that has 700 yards(I buy Zebco omniflex monofilament fishing line). I use it for my masks instead of stretchy string because then I don't have to worry about pulling too tightly or the string being too loose. I also find that the beads "click" into place better when working on the rows. It also helps keep the shape of whatever your working on. <3

use stretchy string for things you wear (bracelets, necklaces, beanies, etc), and fishing line for everything else (bags, wallets, posters/panels, etc). I got mine at Michael's. It was called Bead Landing transite. It's good fishing line and has never snapped for me before, but it gets tangled very easily.

Fishing line for sure i rarely use stretchy string because fishing line is always strong and not as loose as stretchy string

Use fishing line for bags because it will be less likely to break and also if you use fishing line for masks it will make it form a lot better, make sure if you are going to make a bag though to restring it a lot, probably 3 times just to make sure it won't be able to break and if you are going to have straps restring it 5 times :]
