Looking at the other comments, I feel like I'm almost the only one that started because of a passion for EDC and PLUR, etc. Instead of just seeing it around. I've always been in the rave culture, almost my whole life. Me and Kendra both, her parents are like the mom and dad I wish I had, so I just go to their house on a daily basis, lol. But I actually started BECAUSE I wanted to be able to be part of the group and trade with others and really experience PLUR for myself.

Well, I've made kandi with my best friend Kendra (the blonde girl with the mohawk in Under The Electric Sky on Netflix) since as long as I can remember, because we both grew up loving EDC. When her family (Matt, Ali, Kendra, Seth Salcedo ) was filmed for Under the Electric Sky, I really got to come over more and more and meet all these new people like Sadie (Also from the documentary on Netflix), and we all just started making kandi together as a big family. (I like to tell people that Kendra's family took me in because I have WAY more in common with them than my own family...) But yeah... Me and Kendra make kandi so we can trade it with other ravers in the group, and for fun!

I'm going to sound really stupid >.< I used to really like the emo scene style and would watch countless videos on how to be it lol. One video said u may want to try making kandi. Soo, I looked it up and instantly fell in love with kandi. Ever since then kandi has been my obsession. Those videos actually led me to my favorite bands.

heart bounce I went to a concert/rave (excision) and met these awesome people who gave me 3-4? Singles and let me and my friends stay in their hotel with them. It was such a crazy, awesome night and ever since then I loved kandi. I bought my own supplies so I could spread the joy

i started in this past year. i had seen it before at shows n festivals. being a beginner the first piece i made was a mask. i found it interesting and easy. from there i made singles then started on 3d cuffs and perlers. i didn't know anybody that was really into it n didn't know the whole meaning behind it. when i got more into it n found out everything i decided to switch it up a bit. i love taking the time and making special pieces for people. i love that ppl love my pieces. i make them by request n also make them just for fun and to experiment with. i never knew that the pieces i was making would be such a hit with ppl. also i've traded by mail n i gotta say it's the best feeling sending out a packet and knowing it's going to make someones day. i recently received a package from a new friend and it turned my entire day around. kandi is an awesome thing n i don't see myself stopping, especially since it's so addicting!

I had a friend who made kandi, and I asked her to make me something but she never did.. So I was like okay I'll make it myself. So I bought beads and string, and I made three bracelets. Like they all went together. One bracelet said "RIP" the 2nd one said "MITCH" and the last said "LUCKER" and it had black and white beads. I just wanted to make those three and thats it, but then I started to make more. I really really liked making it here I am. c:
