i got a big bucket from hobby lobby and a few colors it was missing in individual baggies. then you can order specific colors u might not be able to find instore on perler's website. and get a good craft box if hunting through the mixed buckets seems daunting to you. i just leave it in the bucket but it would def make it easier to just sit down and start working on it if its sorted (also i know hobby lobby sucks, its just the only craft store in my area and its cheap so)

Dollarama has tubs of mixed rainbow colors and some small pegboards all together for 4 dollars, so i bought that first, and then at michaels got a bag of black and some larger boards and some tools

I just got a huge tub of beads from amazon one day because I thought it would be fun to do. Any decent looking beads and pegboards would be a good place to start.dance

my starting "kit" was a giant order from amazon: i got the 22,000pc tub of assorted beads, a pack of 4 brand name pegboards, the name brand metal mini tweezers, and the 11,000pc tub of assorted glow beads. i also got a mini iron for $20 and a roll of parchment paper (obvs). if you wanna save money you dont *need* the glows since youre starting out, but if you know youre gonna use them i suggest you go for it. ive had mine for like over a year and ive only made like three small projects with them :0 if theres certain colors you know youre gonna use a LOT more than others then i suggest you also buy a 6,000pc bag for each color as well, for me personally its usually black and white, and sometimes orange too if im making some fursona-themed perlers. you can also buy a sorting box for them (about 34 compartments) but its SUUUUPER time consuming to sort them.

hope this helps :3
