School got cancelled cos it was "too cold" when right now it's literally only 17 degrees fahrenheit (-8 celcius) We would normally go to school in this type of weather but today I think the staff was done putting up with our stupid bs lol And honestly I'm not complaining, I didn't want to put with my stupid section in band anyways

minnesota moment (this is from my old school district):

- COLD DAYS: it has to be AT LEAST -35 f (yes, NEGATIVE 35 F) with winds at 5-10mph

- SNOW DAYS: has to have AT LEAST 6 inches of snow fall in a max of 12 hours, OR 8 inches of snow in 24 hours

- HEAT DAYS: will close schools WITHOUT air conditioning if heat index is 105 f for more than 3 hours a day FOR 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS, or reaches 115 f at any given time

for context, i am in college now, so this no longer applies to me as i do full online learning

i love such days. I believe that it is very important during the development and education of children from school to develop their skills in working with numbers, calculations, which will further help them understand marketing. i live in a more northern state, so we never get school off for stuff like that, it was literally -3 degrees or something yesterday and they made all the people who do parent drop off/pickup stand outside in the snow until they let everyone else in the school

and ofc i hear all about my ex’s new crush from my friend and get barked at cuz it’s just my luck (this is the worst month ever 4 me lol)

@enorace: I play trombone, I want to play tuba but I have to wait until later this year or next year until then : (

I love band so much but I hate having to put up with our stupid director and this one kid who barely ever plays, never has his sheet music, his mouthpiece falls of almost every day, and his slide falls off at least twice a week. He's fun to hang out with outside of band but during band he makes me want to jump out the window >: ((

the coldest it gets here is like 28 degrees i think but it's gotten more into the 30 degree range ( fahrenheit)

My friend had to go to school while it was in the negatives and I feel so bad for her- but yeah xD I would be pretty happy bc I could just stay home and procrastinate (as opposed to going to school and still procrastinating lol) so

i dont have school today :P
