why on earth are so many of you posting your locations?? considering im mostly just seeing minors doing it, that seems really dangerous. i get wanting to find friends near you, but i do not think a public, all-ages forum is the place to go, and especially not to post the exact city youre from. this is basic internet safety guys.

of course im not saying the site is full of predators or anything, but it really would be smart to exercise some caution. it is the internet after all :/

ETA: imo its kinda whatever/different for adults (hence why mine is in my profile, im damn near 24 lol), but i feel pretty worried for all the kids/teenagers on here

ETA2: this isn't meant to be an attack on anyone making the threads in question, just bringing up a concern bc i feel it's legitimately unsafe to do, and hoping people at least learn from this

I was thinking the same thing! I'm 19 which is kinda old LOL but you would never catch me sharing my HOME TOWN on a public forums post. The closest I would ever get is my state if anything. You guys need to be smarter and keep urselves safe, there are wayyy too many creeps out there!

I have an idea! Instead of posting it on this site, maybe make a flyer to put around yer town and give ppl a specific way to contact you, it's much safer that way, always remember to be safe even then though oh and DO NOT USE UR PHONE NUMBER! The best way to make friends is in person tho tbh, and stay safe please, and always have a way (s) to protect yourself.

yeah same. im not comfortable with sharing my face or my age (i'm a minor) and people r out here giving out locations?? i got so worried because i saw sum1 really close to where i live and i panicked over it cuz it's a really small town and just- aaaaaaaaaaaaa

i definitely get why those threads exist, but i agree! maybe if you just put "kandi kids in [blank state/country] dm me!" or something like that, it would definitely make more sense, so people dont give out their location to ppl they dont know/trust.

exactly,,, yall need to tone it down with these "kandi kids in _________?" threads. sharing your state? whatever. but your city???? esp if it isnt a big/well known one?????????? not calling the people who make/participate in these threads dumb but that isn't very smart. like at all.

thats where i draw the line. i know this site is full of minors looking for other minors, but that doesn't really make it any better. what ever happened to "internet saftey" and "stranger danger"? /srs
