ok so I dont really get them. I have PTSD and shit. I just dont get how people can aya know go full blown panic attack from someone on the internet saying something/srs. I guess maybe its cuz I was raised differently idek. Like I get cw's cuz some people just dont want to see something but I dont get triggers. There's really nothing that triggers me and if it does I dont even notice. Please help. Especially caps. That shit was so confusing logging on here and seeing people putting warning for caps. I dont wanna offend people by saying triggers aren't real or something it's just so confusing.

@Tobi_kun: You don't really know what will trigger people, once again everyone is different.

I'd suggest to tag for common triggers (anything to do with weight, harm, gore etc) and you should be covered!

From my experience and people I've talked to who have really specific triggers we wouldn't go out of our way to ask strangers to tag, we only asked people close to us to.

@jUggal0_pUppY: thx for the caps explanation! I'm a really loud person so Its strange for me when people dont like yelling. But i get it can be triggering. What I really dont get, again Dont wanna be rude, but how do I know when someone will be triggered cuz it seems like I cant say anything online anymore without someone having a problem.

It's different for everyone because not everyone has the same experiences. Anything could set someone off and it's just common courtesy to tag trigger warnings to keep people safe.

For example there is a show that I have really bad memories with and I get upset when I see the characters but my friend is really into it. She gives a warning when she posts about it so I can avoid bringing up bad memories and doing bad things from feeling upset.

And you brung up tagging for all caps, that can also have many meanings. Some people find it hard to read, others can't help read it as yelling in their head, along with many other things.

I hope this is a good explanation, I can try to explain more if needed!/gen

@XTrinity_TraumaticX: okay okay okay so it's like if I were to post a song that causes that and be like "lmao check out this song" and u did it would make you like "oh no" and go into like a major hardcore depression ep. I dont mean to sound rude I just have a strange way of talking btw. Also that was prob bigtime exaggerated but oofers idk.

sometimes specific phrases or things can bring someone back to that traumatic moment. For me, it triggers a fight or flight response and sets me on edge when i hear specific songs or smell certain smells. Its always good to give someone a heads up because some things can make someone shut down and its really hard to get out of a dark place once your there. It also triggers me to start self mutilating as a form of punishment because i blame myself for a lot that contributed to my PTSD
