i know that they aren't supposed to tell people things but will my therapist tell my mom about it if the thing i say is extremely concerning???

also what things can get me sent to a mental hospital??

i want to know because my mom just signed me up for therapy and i don't want my mom to know about things and i don't want to go to a mental hospital.

if you say something that could be dangerous like sh and attempting suicide then they have to tell your parents but pretty much other then that they can tell your parent anything without your permission

Don't say that you're currently hurting yourself or are planning to. It's ok to say you have thoughts, just mention you aren't planning on following through with them. They can't share confidential details unless you're an active danger to yourself or others.

dont tell them you have a plan to off yourself even if you do, that will get you checked in
dont tell them you actively self harm even if you do, that will get you a one way ticket
dont tell them you plan to hurt someone or something, say goodbye to your phone
dont tell them that you hurt things/yourself for fun, otherwise bye bye!

Your therapist can only tell your mom stuff if they think you're going to do something destructive/dangerous

So anything you say or do will not be shared with anyone else EVER (bc it’s a law or sum) unless you are going to harm yourself or others. -w-

they will tell yr mom or a mental hospital if you confess to 'wanting to harm yrself or others.' it sucks but gl
