I just started this show and I fucking love it!!!!! I love the way everything is shot, and I love that there's so many weird little details in the scenes ("i'd go shopping but, I just don't know where all the money goes" *beth stares at stack of cigarettes*)
I saw someone say that they use the "male gaze" in a way that puts focus on the precise, flat mannerisms of Beth. I think it makes the whole feel of the show satisfying! stuff like that rlly shows that a good show isn't just good bcs of the script, yk? not to be a film nerd. Especially for a show about fucking chess, it manages to keep my attention. And that's fucking amaazing for a show with hour long episodes
