are you scene or scenecore?

I've noticed there's but a lot of confusion between scene and scenecore! Many people don't realize that they're two different things which really hurts the two communities. E.X. scenekids calling scenecore people posers because they accidentally call themselves scene. If you're confused if whether you're scene or scenecore I'm here to help distinguish between them!! and just so you know I'm not talking in a conversation I'm not part of I am scene!

Here's some differences!

Scenecore rainbowsmile

  • Heavily inspired by rainbowcore, glitchcore, and scene.
  • Lots of rainbows and neons way more colorful than scene is.
  • Born from TikTok culture.
  • Some popular scenecore things are: Bunny hats, Monster cans, Demonias, Butterfly Hairclips
  • Several scenecore artists are 100 Gecs, Penelope Scott, H3artcrush, pretty much hyperpop, speedcore, and glitchcore

Scene tama

  • Takes from emo and rave culture.
  • Usually black and an accent color like pink or green. Mostly keeps a minimal palette.
  • Born from MySpace culture.
  • Some popular scene things are Hair Bows, Studded Belts, Raccoon Stripe Hair Extentions, Converse.
  • Several scene artists are S3RL, Bring Me The Horizion, Hollywood Undead, mostly pop punk, metalcore, and crunkcore.

"I still don't understand the differences." cry

perhaps these images could help distinguish it? [1] [2] [3]

One important thing to keep in mind is that these both include kandi!!! You don't need to identify with either of these to make kandi!!

Basic Q&A kao confused

Q] Do I need to be [x] to like its music? A] No not at all!

Q] Can I be both? A] Of course!! You don't need to stick to one thing! feel free to experiment! do what makes you most happy!

Q] Is [x] better than [y]? A] Nope!! They are both valid and wonderful in their own ways!

Q] Can I like things from [x] and not be [x]? A] Totally!! You don't need to be a certain aesthetic to like parts of it!!!

Are you scenecore or scene as well? Or do you have any questions I didn't cover? Please reply and let me know!! I'm here to help!! PLUR! <3

@RavenTheRaver: you said that the way people listen to her music makes her scene, i said that is not how music works

i'm definitely actually scene (or more scemo) appearance-wise, but music-wise i'm into a ton of subcultures, mainly emo/scene/mallgoth/goth

glad people can tell the difference tho ;w;

I personally call myself scemo! My music taste is more emo, but my style takes aspects from both subcultures! kao big grin

@krashthegreat: Since both subcultures aren't heavily music based like punk and goth you can be part of both of them without listening to the music! animal03

i love the "inspired by rainbowcore" thing scenecore has going on, but i also really like original scene because it also tends to tie in with webcore/nostalgiacore/2000's core which i adore <3

also from the first "scene vs scenecore" image i can see myself wearing the scene outfit as opposed to the scenecore one.

i don't listen to the music that tends to be associated with either though, so idk.
