I started on a rainbow tail for my Halloween costume. I'm going as Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony. It was SUPER EASY! I just made a bunch of multi in diff colors of her tail and put them all together at one end.

I think if you start with a giant multi and then start to taper it down some on both sides, it could work, or you can do what my boyfriend did while making me a flying squirrel backpack and that is to make several different multies and then to tie them together using strings of beads, that way you could make the tail flip up some.

You could try making a 3D tail, by doing the 3D ball technique at one end, but I'm not sure everyone would get that it's a tail. And you could always do a flat peyote stitch tail.

It would be like a multi, but only about 8 beads wide, and however many tall to make the length of the tail. And then figure out how to tie off the ends... I'm not sure if it would look right, because I've only made a bracelet like this.
