why do videos have to be posted off of youtube?

i live in a residential where i cant get on youtube and i want to post my vids but i cant sad

Sorry, you are unable to reply. If the thread is still open, you might have been blocked from commenting due to spam or abuse, or we might not have been able to verify that you are a real account. Try updating your profile and interacting more on the site. There are greater restrictions on forum comments due to spam. Spam comments will still not be published, even for verified accounts

also dailymotion is another video website that is not blocked at my residentail

If there's another video hosting site you can use which has a free public API, I would consider adding it. Message me if you find one. I'll post an announcement if I'm ever able to add video uploads to the site.

Because it takes a lot of processing power to upload videos, and this site is only hosted on one server. The whole site could crash from video uploads. Remember, this is a small website owned by one person (me), not a multi-million dollar company that can afford dozens of servers. That's why I ask people to host videos on YouTube instead. I'm sorry that it doesn't work for you.
