Question about 3d cuffs

So I want to learn to how make a 3d cuff, but something about it confuses me. This sounds dumb, but do you have to use a new thread when adding the 3d part or do you use the same thread you made the x-base cuff with?

I usually use the same thread but sometimes I cut it off on accident without thinking and tie a new one on, it doesn't really matter.

you use the same thread and if you run out you can tie on more happy. you can also use a pre-made x-base and tie on a long thread. hope this helps!

You use the same thread, but whether you tie it off before or not is entirely up to you. Also, that is not a dumb question! It's totally cool if you don't know something!
