how do i tell my parents im not catholic?

i live in a catholic/Christian house and i waz talking about religion in the car w my dad and when we got home he said " as parents, we do requare you to have a base religion." it was kinda awkward bc i dont believe in any god lolz

say "girlies, i do be kind of an atheist doe" and if theyre like "nooooooo you're gonna go to hell man nooooooo atheism bad" then just explain your reasoning for not believing in a god. i think your parents might be slightly more ok with it, even if they are hardcore christians, if you have solid reasoning to back up your beliefs. (note: if that sounded like a challenge it wasn't supposed to be, i'm also atheist)
