what to do with shitty ppls music?

i like a lot of creators music but a handful of those creators are pedos or just not good ppl. for example: mindless self indulgence and cavetown. there are others but i don't have my spotify open atm -.- anyway, what do i do? i really like the music and it really resonates with me but supporting the art is also supporting the artist :/

i would just ignore the artist and the song and look for more artist that has the same music

I personally don't pay much mind, but try finding their music reuploaded somewhere like Youtube.

ive just stopped caring at this point :/ so many of my favorite artists have done terrible things and their fame is the only thing stopping them from facing the consequences. in most cases its perfectly okay to separate the art from the artist, unless the art IS the problem. however if you genuinely dont want to support the artist, use an alternate streaming service or download their music

music is for enjoyment. the artist's beliefs should not reflect the listener's beliefs

I'd say just watch reuploads of the songs on youtube where you know that listening to it wont directly support the artist in any way !

1.) wait cavetown's bad?? wot did they do??

2.) bro if u listen to em on a site/app with ads [including spotify] , the artist gets money everytime you play it. however, be aware they get anywhere from 6/1000 to 84/1000 of a cent per play on spotify, so it wouldn't make a huge difference. but honestly, if u feel it isn't right to support them by playing their music, then don't play their music. playing it or not are both totally acceptable options, and it's your choice.
