Fishing cord or elastic string for complex kandi?

I pretty much use elastic cords that you get at crafts stores like Michaels and JoAnne's right now, but I've been worried about whether some of my larger kandi cuffs would break because of the tension. I've seen people use fishing line on Youtube, and it seems to make sense that it would be stronger, and also still have a little bit of elasticity. Which do you prefer to make sure your complex kandis last (such as large cuffs, backpacks, and other things that endure a lot of stress during shows).

I use Beading cord elastic (5 yds) that comes in a package and is a dollar from Walmart in the sewing section, its alot cheaper. For a complex kandi, I would suggest elastic. Also, the elastic I use does not come apart unless yo cut the string, if you tie is about three times. I hope this helps.

i used fishing line once for a cuff it wouldnt stretch over my thumb crying so i wouldnt use it for cuffs or anything that needs to stretch. i use it for all my peyotes and purses and its BEAST. so it really does depend on what your making

Anything that doesn't have to stretch: use fishing line (i.e. purses, backpacks, peyote stitch dude-adds, etc.) but i use really stretchy stuff for all my bracelets and necklaces and i have only ever had 1 kandi break on me and it was a single that i got at a rave (someone else made it and i don't think they tied it strong enough) experiment a little and see what works best for you.

I would never make a cuff oout of a material that wouldn't stretch as it would be frustrating to wear. However, for backpacks, kandikinis, skirts (on the bottom), purses, etc, I would use fishing line.
