Can you use perler beads instead of kandi beads?

The first cuff I ever made was made of perler beads. It definitely works but I would not recommend it because it is scratchy, uncomfortable, and it uses twice the normal amount of beads.

technically speaking, i cant think of anything stopping you. however, your proportions would be very different, and it might sit strangely on your wrist- if i had to make a cuff from perler beads, id probably use peyote stitch. you also might need a thinner string, depending on how thick the string you use currently is.

with this in mind... just because you can do something doesnt mean you should. the effort it would take to potentially remake your patterns just doesnt pay off, for me, at least.

that said, if you try it, id be interested to hear the results.
