Peyote Flat- How to stop edges from curving?

edmsamurai 3/8/2018 10:46 am 1523

I have been looping it toward the bottom and back up again to prevent some curving but I have a feeling I’m doing it wrong. See pics. Edges cave in.

@Groove_Kittin: I use 10 or 12 lb fishing line. $2 at walmart for 700 meters. will last you forever.

Fishing line is magic. I'm not a hardcore kandi maker though I love it. My biggest problem was I randomly got my first spool of fishing line from a friend. Since then I have almost used all of it up but I don't know what strength or weight to use. I have gotten two different kinds but one was to think and the other was to weak. Also I have been making masks and have that problem with the bigger half masks and the edges by the eyes... I'm at a loss but still trying.

@TurboBeads: thank you that was indeed helpful. I guess that’s what happens when you order cheap things from Amazon.

You’re right it’s the Master Chief!

Looks a bit deformed

I honestly think this happens for a few reasons,

It could be the beads you are using and how tightly you are pulling the string or the string you are using.

I would try to use beads that are the same size and are straight on the sides, I prefer beads that are more square ish in shape,

gives the beads less wiggle room, make sure every bead is in a snug fitting, Fishing line is also great to use as string...

From the picture it appears you are creating master chief! its looking pretty good, hope this was some what helpful.
