Hi! I've been selling my kandi necklaces on etsy for a little over a year now and I love it!! I can't beat JamieS's info, the breakdown of pricing info is really helpful, yet it's something I've never done lol! I research similar perler items on etsy/ebay and price my items accordingly. It's also good to have great pictures, obviously. And a wide variety of perlers to attract more people.

If you have a specific question or problem, feel free to ask me anytime! I'm not on here too much but I practically live on etsy!

I favorited your shop so you can find me easily, and here is the link to my shop:

Good luck!!

Hi,

I went to your store and you're very underpriced. I am also thinking to sell on Etsy and in order to make a profit you need to sell things for at least $6. Unless you are buying your beads cheaper than 1000/6000 per bag on perler.com. Also your shipping may only be $1, but you have to factor in materials.

My advice would be to at least charge $8 for the small stuff as this gives you a little profit.

One other thing to keep in mind, at the moment you're not paying yourself for your time and so that could also be a factor. Also, it's cheaper to sell and ship a few smaller things together.

Etsy charges $0.20 to list, plus 3.5% if it sells. So if you're item is $5 this means that you get $4.62. I'm not sure what shipping materials will cost you, but say it's $0.50 and shipping is likely more than $1, depending on weight. So say your item plus packaging weighs 5 ounces, USPS (cheapest option) charges you $3.16.

This means your profit without calculating beads is: $1.96

Your pikachu is over 650 beads. If you buy them but bags of 1000 from perler's site then pikachu cost you $1.29

These leaves you with a profit of only: $0.67

This doesn't include the time you spend making this, or even the gas driving to the post office to send out your item. This may not include shipping costs for the beads if you don't spend enough to get free shipping from whatever site you purchase from.

I know this is super long but unless you can get beads for free, you're not making any money and for larger items, you will lose money if they weigh more than what I calculated above.

My interest is that if I sell stuff and price higher than you for something of similar size and/or complexity then you will undersell me so that I won't sell and you won't even be making money while doing it.

Good luck and you're super talented. I hope you can make this work!!
