I’ve been going to Raves for about 2 years now, I specifically go to DIY raves held by ppl in my area because I think raves at venues are lame. I wanted to ask if anyone else goes to raves and how did you find out abt them, what city are you in, how big are the crowds?…etc. if you are a raver, are you sober? Or do you take substances when you dance? What’s your craziest rave story?

My craziest rave story is when I went to a locally held event by some college kids at an abandoned werehouse in an abandoned quarry. It was crazy you had to walk like 10 minutes into the woods to get to it and there was so many people it was so crazy fun.

@_plutoexpanded: ok idk why y’all are tweakin abt therians, I’m just gonna ignore althat and talk abt raves.

How to find them: Look on Instagram for flyers for local events in your area, a lot of young ppl repost events going on in their area on Instagram stories. Check tik tok too!! Also Reddit is a good resource as well, especially bc most cities have their own subreddit. I typically go to events run by college kids that go to a University in my city, so check local college student’s social media basically. This is not the only way to find raves! There are actual festivals too but I’ve never been to one simply bc they are expensive and the ones I go to are 5 bucks.
What to do at raves: Dance! Give out Kandi to make friends!! People watch!! Drinking, sm0king and doing other stuff are not required to have fun at a rave!! It can certainly add to the fun, but it’s definitely not necessary.

What to bring: Water, sunglasses, narcan (can reverse an opioid overdose!! Very important to have!!) kandi, and whatever else you need to go out for the night.

@emma_fell_in_love: it’s a music gathering with electronic music DJs, typically there’s lots of colorful lights and other effects like fog or black lights. Raves are the root to scene and PLUR culture. Sometimes there’s themes, sometimes they are sober, but most of the time it’s just a lot of young adults drinking and smoking or doing other stuff while dressed up in fun clothes, I typically wear my pfp outfit with variations in the accessories!
